A Green Roof (and vote) for Earth Day...

Posted on by Lauren M

It's that time of year... Earth Day is approaching in a couple weeks, and to celebrate, we're revisiting a favorite green project- the Energy Lab at the Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano, which we recently submitted for inclusion in's 'Love the Earth, Plant a Tree' living roof contest on facebook.

Entries include green roof projects that epitomize a strong relationship to the environment and are 'worthy of being an example of forward-thinking sustainable design'. We feel the Energy Lab aptly fits this description, and would love to bring some well-deserved attention to the value of green building and environmental education that this project represents.

That said, we'd truly appreciate your support with a vote for the Energy Lab at this link. You can vote once per day until the winner is announced on April 22nd- Earth Day.

Many thanks in advance for the support of the project, as well as our efforts to promote ecological awareness, stewardship, and green building technologies. For more information about the Energy Lab, click here, or check out the photo gallery at the project's design page.

Also, to learn more about living roofs and walls, browse the project database at, and if you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us...

Happy (early) Earth Day!

Thanks again,

Lauren + Jason
