Today is Blog Action Day, and MYD is pleased to participate in this global event that brings organizations, companies, and individuals from across the globe together to address a single critical issue that affects all of us. This year the topic is water, and we'd like to encourage conservation and awareness of ways we can enact change on both individual and collective scales.
Sustainable design is as much about the larger context of neighborhood development and urbanism as it is about each building, and architecture and urban design can and should be employed to foster stronger communities, greater opportunity, and a higher quality of life for individuals and societies.
Last weekend marked the opening of a new interactive exhibit at The Ecology Center about water conservation and green living. A collaboration with Hurley H2O, and Zago, this visually-engaging multi-media installation takes visitors on a educational exploration that incorporates art, community, and critical environmental issues.
Located in picturesque Quechee, Vermont, the Simon Pearce glassblowing factory, flagship restaurant and retail store is a beautful example of how historic preservation can sustainably create both inspired and functional spaces.
