If you're in the area, now is a great time to learn about the development of art and architecture in Southern California- Pacific Standard Time is a result of the collaborative efforts of regional cultural and arts institutions and galleries, along with the Getty, and includes dozens of exhibits focused on art in Los Angeles.
So it begins... MYD is officially on Google+ and we're very interested to see how this new social media platform develops. We'll be posting our own favorite architecture and design links, as well as construction updates and latest news that isn't featured in MYD blog.
Occurring on the third Friday of September, PARK(ing) Day is an annual event that began with a single parking space in 2005 in San Francisco. Since then, the event has grown as a platform for creative 'guerilla landscaping', as well as a venue for illustrating the need for public green space, civic participation, and thoughtful community development.
In spite of our short time there, we had the opportunity to visit one of the greatest farmers markets in the country, and that alone was enough reason to plan a trip back to Portland.
