Living Outdoors: Under Construction in Lake Forest

Posted on by Lauren Moss

A first look at the concrete and steel progress from the construction site of one of MYD's nearby projects- an elevated, multi-level outdoor living space in the middle of a beautiful Eucalyptus grove in Lake Forest here in South Orange County, California.

The expansive steel and wood structure wraps the entire corner of the home and features integrated seating and jacuzzi, and custom details throughout.

For example, a carefully-located opening at the floor structure will accommodate the existing pine tree above, further underscoring an already strong relationship to the site.

The grid of steel columns creates a lighter visual footprint on the landscape while allowing for an increased height, and corresponding functionality, at the spaces beneath the structure.
