Work has been progressing at our modern renovation in Mission Viejo. After demolishing several walls, the main living space already feels brighter and more open. Panoramic images show the progress over the past few weeks, from demo to framing and drywall, preparing the kitchen for our redesigned layout that maximizes light, storage and visual access.
A great room concept is well-suited for today's contemporary, flexible lifestyles; from an architectural perspective, planning for spatial adjacencies, functional relationships and furniture layouts within an open context is a critical component of the design process. One solution is to incorporate a screening element to provide visual interest and establish different use zones without using solid walls.

For these transitional spaces, a glazed Japanese mosaic tile was used at the fireplace and contemporary, large-format Porcelanosa tiles at the master bath.
