The Art of Craft
I take cues from George Nelson and his appreciation of the Japanese tradition of craft and packaging when it comes to my own personal art projects...
I, too, have a strong appreciation for the detail and beauty of craft and love to make things by hand. As referenced by Nelson, this concept of finding delight in the everyday is 'a totally unexpected monument to a culture, a way of life, a universal sensibility carried through all objects down to the smallest, most inconsequential, and ephemeral things.'
Design can be found everywhere- from places and people to concepts and ideas, and the practice of architecture and innovation is enhanced by a connectedness to these elements and the ability to create, build and find inspiration anywhere.
