Sometimes you just have to get up from the desk, leave the computer and all its associated work, drawings, emails and responsibilities, and go outside. So, yesterday, after spending the entire day in front of the screen, I skipped writing the blog post and made the move.
A stick of graphite, some watercolor paper and the front stoop... and for the first time in a while, I just drew what was in front of me.
And it was lovely. Not the resulting drawing, but the act of creating for the sake of creating. Here's what I saw outside:
After about a half an hour, it started to get a little chilly, so I headed back inside, and this is what I saw there:
