New Construction in Yorba Linda

Posted on by Lauren Moss

Last week, MYD received planning commission approval for a new single-family residence in Yorba Linda, Orange County. The proposal for the 12,800 square foot site includes a contemporary ranch-style home with a generous front porch and 'hidden' garage, accessed via the new driveway.

As seen in the floor plans below, the main entry opens to a double-height space with sightlines to the great room and kitchen beyond, while the second floor consists of private living spaces, with a shared loft space between the secondary bedrooms and master suite.

While the approved plans will be moving forward into construction documents in the coming weeks, it's always interesting to take a look back at previous iterations and preliminary concepts from the early design stages...

The schematic drawings below give a sense of the original intent, while conveying the evolution of the overall design concept.

As the project moves towards construction, small changes will continue to shape the design, and we look forward to tracking the progress and sharing those updates here at MYD blog.

In the meanwhile, check out more of 'on the boards' work at our project portfolio, and thanks for reading!
