Located in an equestrian community in nearby Lake Forest, our initial concepts for this detached studio and workshop take cues from the landscape and orientation within the context of a contemporary, clean industrial aesthetic.

Access, topography and site conditions are primary plan considerations at this early stage, and preliminary site sketches locate the building at the rear of the sloping property, where square footage can be maximized without obstructing views from the primary residence.

Early elevation concepts explore opportunities to leverage form and function, with exposed structural elements coupled with materials that provide for durability, utility and scale.
