Local Events This Month

So, we're a few days late for the Sustainable Business Leadership Council's first networking/educational event (which took place on the first of the month), but it was a great opportunity to meet like-minded Orange County-based professionals interested in sustainability.

One of our favorite non-profits in the area, The Ecology Center, is having a celebration of local foods at the only certified organic farm in Orange County.  Not only will it be a delicious way to experience the best organic produce and wines, as well as free range meats and fresh seafood, but it will be a learning opportunity, as well, with the local producers 'share a story of how each item journeyed to the table'. 

This is a great way to end the summer and celebrate with fantastic people, delicious food, and a beautiful setting.

The Education Committee of the Orange County Chapter of the US Green Building Council is facilitating an event on Renewable Energy on September 24, with a number of industry experts with tips and strategies for solar and wind installation, as well as information on incentives.  Register for this event at USGBC-OC's new website.
