Every other year, a series of site-specific designs are located throughout desert landscape, often large-scale pieces that respond conceptually to environmental and cultural issues, as conveyed by the event’s curators and The Desert Biennial organization.

Here are a few favorite works from this year’s exhibition, which began in March and was on display through early May.
